well it needed a water pump and thermostat, so i have my friend over, who i trust and who is very good at working on cars (currently fixing up his friends dads Ferrari, some old dino model not sure) well i said hey lets get some burgers ill buy since your helping me out, he said he would like to get a head start on the dis assembly, so i go to get burgers i come back and he snapped one of the bolts, (M6-1X28mm) we got the stud out and everything, he RTV'd it for me (part i was not so sure about doing myself) then we put the water pump back on, he used a different m6-1.0X28mm in the hole the broken stud was in, so i went out to get a replacement one, i come back he is deciding he is going to leave and there i am with a bolt that wont catch any threads and then i found out there was another bolt missing.
said friend is pretty much avoiding me and has been for like 48 hours and i don't know what the hell is going on, i don't know if he stripped it, or lost/has the bolt, no idea...
with that being said i'm never letting friends wrench on my car while i am not there.Comment

yes, either that or the the bolt holes that attach the water pump to the block are stripped or have RTV or gasket material stuck in them.... i have no idea dude it's pretty frustrating because i was planning on having my car running the next day (after the RTV cured)Comment

yes he broke one of #12, and then had a replacement from somewhere. looking at this diagram i am missing the bolts for hole #2 and the one directly above where bolt #11 is going, that hole is not shown its hidden by the angle of water pump.Comment

no. there is a total of 9 bolts holding the water pump to the block.
i only have 7 of the 9 and i am missing 2 bolts.
and if your thinking i have my bolts all in wrong holes, i already checked that and played musical bolts (kinda like musical chairs but with hardware.)Comment
