Seriously! I was putting my chain tensioner back on after going a head gasket, and a bolt snapped in the head. It's not like I over tightened it cause it snapped before proper torque was reached. Got me so mad!

Is anyone super familiar with the whole CARB/smog laws?

I have a lake house in lake county (some of the cleanest air in CA supposedly) and all vehicles in this area are smog only when you buy and sell. Would it be possible to Register there and get around some laws?

Engine swaps would be easier cause no bar
Turbo?
Non-smog legal parts?
