doesn't the obc coding chip vary from engine to engine? ie. you can't use an 325e obc in a 325is. so if the obc isn't from an m3, won't it read mpg and range incorrectly?

You can't use the coding plug from different e30 engines, but you can use any OBC from any car as long as you use the corresponding coding plug

different plugs for Es but all late cars + Ms are the same
