You remind me exactly of my dad; he goes on holy tirades and crusades like he is the master of the universe and knows everything. Needless to say, if I had a smarter mind not to put up with his crap, we would have a much worse relationship than we do now. Don't expect your kids to respect you much if you're this much of a douche to them.
Secondly, I don't exactly agree with our boy Steven's tire decisions either, but he will eventually figure out he needs to run at least 205 or 215 in the rear to have a stable car. Leave the kid alone, you're not his dad
Thirdly, Steven: you're and idiot. Man up and run man sized tires and stop being such a pansy and giving excuses for everything. NO ONE HAS A S5x SWAP AND RUNS BOTTLECAPS. The fact that you have more traction will compensate until your skill level with driving a fast/light car catches up to you.

Honestly, 205s or 225s aren't enough for an s5x swap. A stock e36 M3, with much better rear suspension, came with 245s and the common upgrade path is 255s for very mildly modded ones. Since most S5x swaps are modded with intake, chip, fly, exhaust, etc.....225s won't cut it at all given the crap rear contact patch control of an e30's suspension.
225 is better than 205, but an s5x car can overwhelm sticky 255s easily. Eric, if you really want to be the douche proclaiming he needs real tire, at least suggest the right tire size.

there's not such a huge difference between 195s and 205s. I'd run 225s at least to be comfortable with S50-levels of power. I'm doing a proper 5-lug swap on my car in order to get my wheels inboard enough to do that, actually.

225 is about as big as you can run without hardcore modifications.

225s are the easy solution, but not the optimal.

David. i agree. the issue is you can't fit 255s in an e30 w/o Kameron's flares. and aint nobody got time for that. 235's only fit if you pull the fenders.
and joey, maybe you should listen to your dad. the older i get the more i realize that mine was right.
anyways 205 sdrives cant hang i know i ran them for years. you can roast them with a blown m20 let alone 200whp car. steven keeps crashing as it is. i know better here. he need more rubber and better quality rubber.Last edited by Cabriolet; 06-09-2014, 05:41 PM.

Id love to run something wider, but Im pretty attached to my 16x7 SSR wheels, so I dont think I can run something much wider than a 225, maybe a 235. It was pretty meaty looking with the 225s. Ideally Id like to find a 235/40 or 45 but its an odd size. There are some good tires in a 225/45 size so thats what Ive been looking at. I also dont know how wide of a tire you can stuff in the back. I have an early model so I think that helps, but still... any ideas?Simon
