edit: another deployment story- so engineers and infantry are both combat arms, but infantry guys think their shit don't stink and engineers are second-rate. caught a lot of shit while i was in an infantry unit. "EFK" are the three basic needs of an infantryman; eat, fuck, kill. i decided that acronym needed redefining and tagged up all the unit humvees:
So awesome haha!
Good way to make light of a tense situation
My time in service made me a man, but also fucked with my head after two wars and a career associated with them. Being a medic is commendable, but it wouldn't be too easy and the shit stirring up again in the Middle East is almost guaranteed to land you in combat sometime soon unless you get a good job working in a clinic. I'd go for it and take the tests, see what you're eligible for and research the jobs and potential for civilian futures and go with whatever strikes your fancy, but medic I would never choose.

yeah, i quit that job for a reason. i don't tend to forgive myself for making mistakes easily, and the fact of the matter is you can't save everyone- i just knew that i would carry it with me forever when i lost someone; i'd never stop second-guessing myself or thinking "i should have done X rather than what i did". thankfully my original CO was understanding of that, appreciated my honesty, and there was a spot for an engineer elsewhere in the battalion.
only talked about it with Jinormous because he's already in the medical industry and was looking for a way to pay for school. without those factors, yeah, wouldn't recommend it either. most of the medics i knew who'd deployed were heavy drinkers.
Sorry to interrupt but does anyone have an excellently working m42 AFM laying around? I think my car is running very rich (or inconsistently between lean and rich) under load. It's failing smog and my fuel input seems inconsistent, at constant speed and throttle.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Doesn't seem like one but if anyone knows someone with a smoke tester I'd love to look into it more. The idle didn't change when I sprayed brake cleaner all around the intake looking for leaks.

ill learn a little bit about whats going on with a future GC set up for me in a few days when i visit my family in santa cruz for the 4th, ill be visiting my best friends / cousins kyle and ryan, and there parents/my uncle/aunt / godparents mark and lisa. mark works at GC, and i haven't seen him in a while, at least not since eric got me back in the e30 and on the road.
im still wating on my brake replacement set from blunt that i ordered a few days back, and im about to purchase stuff for my control arms.
If you havent done the rear suspension yet, you really are a lazy ass. If the fronts are fully assembled units Im going to come and take your parts from you. Theres no good reason why its taking this long.
