This has not been my experience.
Did exhaust, then did ITBs, then figured out the fuel tune with the FPR and wideband.
Since then I've been beating it like it owes me money, I've left behind guys who've done turbos and swaps, and the only time it's left me stranded was when the alternator went out.
I've never even taken the valve cover off.past:

and i cant remember who else but there has been many more
this engine is just fragile, and it always dies on people when they have no money.
i've aslo driven 3 stock ones and have owned an mk3 2.slow jetta. they feel the same.
i do approve of an f20c swapComment

Don't get me wrong its a fun motor to rev out while you literally go no where. You can feel the difference in weight between the two motors. It could be that the whole chassis is lighter being a 318iS.Comment
