    Costco Canada QuickJack 7000TL Deal

Last year this went on sale at this price, but I wasn't sure if that was a regular/yearly thing.

I held out long enough and surprisingly the same deal is on again this year - only from today until June 4, so if you're looking for a quickjack or similar, pull the trigger while you can.

The same model is on sale at home depot for $2800, or amazon for $2230 so this seems like a steal, especially with the Costco warranty.

    7000 lb rating
20.5" height travel (so maximum height is basically 21.5" with included 2" block, 22.5" with included 3" block, 24.5 with both stacked, or up to 27" with the optional truck adapters. But basically comes down to how low the car is.)
3.5" minimum (with the rubber block, its actually 4" - may be an issue with slammed cars, but I'm sure some wood scraps would take care of this.)
1797 mm / 70.75" length when flat (ie. how much space needs to clear between wheels. E30 wheelbase is 2570 mm / 101.2 in, and my much stubbier R56 fits with the "5000TL" version, which is only .75" shorter.)

I'd love a real lift, but my garage is a compromise with 10' ceilings and not enough width to fit two cars if there's a two post lift in there. Sure going two high can make space for two cars vertically, but to work on two shitboxes at once, I think side-by-side is more helpful.

IMO this is the next best thing, and the price is right.

I'm used to using creepers anyway so I'm not worried about not being able to stand under the car, and hopefully the height is enough to drop a transmission or anything other than an engine/complete drivetrain.

I think FCP or Pelican has a similar discount, deleted the email so not sure which it was.

I've heard they go on sale for $999 at costco in the US, but that was also like 2018 or 2020 so I can't say that its still that way.

It did ship from the US via UPS so I assume some of the extra cost here is the shipping rolled into the purchase price.

The bad news is that mine is DOA lol...

The good news is that it seems to just be the power cable (no continuity on the BLK/Load wire between plug and unit).

Easy fix, but we'll see how support handles this without me immediately voiding my warranty lol.

Edit: I sent support a video of the issue at their request last night. Note, the support email address on the .ca site is not correct, use the US/ .com contact info.

Just learned the price dropped by another $250 two days after I purchased, so I submitted a price adjustment request.

              A few points:

1: Deal back on until the 7th of July

2: Costco denied my price adjustment request online. I might call to argue about it. There may be some location qualifier for the extra $250 discount, but we'll see.

3: Quickjack support said there's an issue with this batch of pumps, asked for my address to ship a new pump, and said I'd return my existing pump. Had some email issues, partially because gmail spam filter is stupid, but I emailed them Tues for an update and they said they<re trying to get a unit shipped to me, and that I can keep my dead pump for parts.

So I did what I probably should've done in the first place and bought a cheap extension cord to replace the original power cable.

Bleeding the two rams took maybe a minute, then I jacked my Mini up. The larger 3" blocks barely slid under the jack points on the mini. The pump is quieter than I expected, and I have nearly 23" to the rocker, which is more than enough for a thick creeper. Could easily change a trans while on this.

Wouldn't consider a smaller version because there doesn't seem to be any tradeoff for the extra weight and height of the 7000 over the 5000 or 3500. It fits between the Mini's wheels with a few inches to spare, so unless you're into kei cars or fiats or something, it would be hard to find something that doesn't fit.

They worked well for front end/Exhaust/brakes on the mini. Wheels/calipers are at a nice height to sit on a stool and work on.

In general, creepers suck to get down/up from, but flat floor and new casters make a huge difference.
Just try to have all the tools you need the first time so you're not constantly up/down.

Once I was done with the mini, I wall hung the frames in the corner, and while I definitely lacked foresight when laying out the electrical here, it does seem to work well as long as I don't swap the frames from one hook to the other:

I didn't buy the official Quickjack wall hanger kit. They're $60 USD or $150 CAD.

Instead I spent $14 on these 50KG rated hooks from Canadian Tire:

The quickjack is in contact with the floor, and seems to want to lean against the wall. The hook just prevents them from falling if they get bumped, or sagging into the 'open' position if the ram leaks.

Definitely would appreciate a two post lift someday, but so far I'm happy with the purchase. Frames are very sturdy when locked with hydraulics disconnected. I did stick two jackstands inside each frame for 'more safety' but probably just paranoia.

Also the rubber blocks suffered some deformation from being used on the Mini. I would 100% NOT stack them together to lift something, and I'm considering using some 2X6 to make some larger replacement platforms.

Major downside/oversight so far is that the maximum spread for these is less than the distance to meet my XC90's jack points.
The 'TLX' version is the same setup, but longer, but that wouldn't work with the Mini.
They make Extension Frames for $390USD/490CAD but I'm not paying that for 6" lol.

Some of the Cayenne guys run the jacks sideways, but IMO it's in the way of a lot of jobs and a bit sketchy because it comes close to a lot of stuff.
One Cayenne guy runs a 2X6 with angle iron on each side, which flexes and looks a lot sketchy.
I think a 6X6 post might work on each side, but I haven't really thought about if it actually fits or would hold the car.

Using their pinch weld adapters? Haven't had my e30 up yet/haven't bought those.

Working on getting some wood beams to use with the XC90 and D4 because I refuse to spend the money on the extension frame. My step-father has a sawmill and offered to cut me something, but I failed to communicate that I need TWO beams and not one.
