I'm not wishing them failure, but it's seeming to me to be a rough idea to release a new car brand in a struggling economy (or so were told).... Blah blah blah.... My biggest concern is USDM quirks and kinks they won't have ironed out (fuck off your "testing," shit fails) and they won't have enough locations to service stuff when it breaks
Yeah, you use the full Chrysler network. Also, it looks sweet, cool italian turbo hatch, cool paint schemes, different, decent mpg. Safety is a big deal too, they are going through the entire car to make it safer and stiffer for the american market. It's a rare case where the american version will be a lot better then the euro version. Honestly, I don't want any new BMW's, the mini has a stupid interior, golf gti is too common, I dont like JDM cars, and I need to pay off loans before I buy a Porsche. It is the logical next step for me.

Well, in the 20 years since the last E30 rolled off the line, there have been many better cars, and since many of us are graduating/about to/have good jobs, now's the time to try something new and different.

This. I really really want one for a few years, since it will definitely be many years before I can buy myself my GT3 RS. Till then, I'm pretty content with my E36 and Subaru, but it'd be nice to have a DD with a warranty that is fun too. Something breaks and I can drop it off, have it repaired the same day, at no cost to me. I really really want that for a DD beater.

Plus the Abarth is silly amounts of awesome.

Absolutely, i see no reason not to. imho, one of the best BMW chassis all around, for cost, simplicity, looks, and performance.

                  That's why I am on an E30 forum! ;)

Sam's a die hard lol... My STi satisfied the same criteria, and I'd take Japanese over Italian. But I can get where you're coming from.... The Bro scene wasn't nearly as bad when I had both my Subarus

Yep, It's just time to move to something that has cup holders, working AC, good ride, turbo, etc.

yeah the E30 scene isn't so douchey as to chase me away, yet (knock on wood). Put it this way, I would have a hard time being an 80s-90s civic hatch enthusiast...
