Very interesting. I wonder if I should give this a shot to avoid firewall issues.

So far so good on the rack swap, but

When he did my alignment, Cal said the thicker washers that were provided with my drop hats were causing the bearings in the mounts not to work. Basically if he cornered hard the whole top end of the strut would rotate. Anyone know why drop hats have thicker washers? Obviously I got something wrong in my assembly.

Might have to run a smaller washer in between to "shim" it a little so the force is applied on the right spot.

So should I run them both. Cal was thinking just use the stock washer. What is the purpose of the thicker washer?

depends on how it looks, you may need both washers, you may not. as long as the hat rotates freely.

I have the tie rod puller tool, but not the control arm tool. We have to drop the control arms with H&R sports right to get to the top of the strut right? I just trashed my old control arm bushings with a pickle fork because I was replacing them.

I can remove both without either tool, it's pretty simple.

Anyone have an idea what shipping on a couple plastic bumpers should cost from the east coast? A ton probably?
