at what price? Funny story about that......

Apparently I might not need to buy one, my car's problem is loss of 5th gear detent instead of the trans eating itself. Fix is a bushing and seal kit, or so I'm told.

Oh, just do the detent pin fix then. Much cheaper. I have the tools if you need to borrow them.

Go on.... what's this involve? How would this work as well as the seal/bushing fix?

I'd talk to Mayfield. I haven't actually done it, but the parts are super cheap. The only annoying part about it is that the trans has to be out of the car so I hear.

Did he ever post a picture thread with his results from the fix? I can't find it.

That sounds like exactly the problem.

For 1,500, as long as it runs and drives decent it would probably be a good buy.

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

Anyone have a vin decoder? I am looking at the 318is in Colorado Springs and wanted to see what options it came with. I am guessing no one has a car fax either but never hurts to ask. The guy got it when it was brought into BMW after a wreck and I wanted to see what kind of damage happend. I am heading down wednesday to check it out but want to be fully informed before I see it.

No it is a silver 2 door with e30 m3 front fenders on it. Looks a little riced out but I have a parts car so I can fix that...
