Loans.... You don't need Grants.. LOANS.. I have loans... Also, scholarships. They're out there, several thousands of dollars after you add em up, just have to be a go-getter and apply for em and do the leg work... Write an essay, get $750, etc... Easy money...

why wouldn't you need grants? grants pay for 75% of my tuition, and a grant is pretty much a loan that you don't need to pay back.Comment

I understand that Sam, but I'm talking about options for those who don't have grants as an option. There's lots of ways to make it work if you want to go back to school.

I didn't get a single grant for the first three years of school due to parents income. Then I got married, am on my own, etc. I got a little bit. The point is just take out loans. It will be way, way, worth it in the end.

You should. I'm very happy, very very happy with the route I went, but I'm so glad to be back in school.

Protip: stay in state. It doesn't matter much which school you go to, so long as it's the best one in your chosen field of study. CU's engineering is ranked better than CSU's, for example. Mines has a far superior materials engineering/materials science department compared to CU/CSU. UNC is best for teaching......etc. Figure out what interests you, figure out which in-state school is best at it, and go there. In state is WIN because you pay 1/3 the amount for an equivalently good education as your friends who go out of state.Comment

There's a program I dunno if David has heard of... It's pronounced Woo-ee but I don't remember the 3 letter abreviation for it.... Basically, it's a program where participating schools allow admission for out of state students for in-state cost + 1/2... So like, say in state somewhere is $5,000. Out of state would be like $17,000... With woo-ee, you'd pay like $7,500... Something to look into
