I'm impressed you still have that plastic engine guard thingy.

as a matter of fact, the fluid doesn't lubricate the system. See this thread: http://www.m42club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10885

and i am not sure if your rack is drained or not, David, but I drove my car a while back with just the PS belt taken off, and now compared to the drained rack, it is WAY easier to steer. As a matter of fact, the whole way home from work today i didn't even notice the PS was missing (except for the CRAZY power increase!) until i got home and was navigating into the driveway.

at first when I read the thread title I was like "oh no.....he's actually going to fix it" but then I relieved (when i saw the delete)

        sweeet!

I mean, it's KINDA hard to turn at anything under 3mph, but after one day you get used to it. I bought the car with busted PS, so I actually had no idea what PS was like until i got the vert two months ago.
.....and it has since been deleted as well!

edit: also, it makes under hood stuff WAY easier. alternator, starter, you name it, the xtra space is awesome.
dude great minds think alike, man!! one of my favorite pasttimes is seeing what I can yank out of my E30 without it falling apart!! kinda like that game with the little thin plastic sticks...

just plug the rack like i did.

I just have the cover pictured. I am not going to remove the other stuff, because I don't want my tires flinging crap into my engine bay.

Whats the point of deleting the PS? Is it just for weight reduction or wat:?:

I'm pretty sure the search function could answer this.....so I'm just gonna use this as an excuse to post-whore.

                                less leak=more awesome
more room to muck around engine=more awesome
less load on crank pulley=more powaaah (more awesome)
                                less weight=more awesome

                                'nuff said
