    Can we get a hip hip hooray for spur of the moment rear axle R&R's. Labor of love, got damnit.

    Wished I could trust myself on a bike. I don't trust the choices i'd make. Haha. Nice bike!

      Tucked in tight at the pay lot. Got me thinking, someone should make "auto fold" side mirror motors for the E30. Love the look, especially when parked. Anyone know if this has been done?

        I always thought about doing it to, just need to wire some servos to open and close them and just use another foglight button on the dash for them. I think it would be fairly simple.

          Do it dude! My only concern is finding servos' strong and smooth enough to do it "smoothly". Takes a decent amount of force to get them into "folded" position.

          I want those, as well as a functional rear windshield shade.

            Wouldn't quite be that easy since. You'd have to route power there, ideally you could have them be sensor driven so they turn off when there is resistance and don't just blow up/make you hold down a switch for the *perfect* around of time. You'd also need a way to mount them. I've not seen the actual hinge mechanism, but who knows if there is room in it to mount a motor (and if you replaced the whole hinge with the motor, it would need some crazy-strong to overcome wind/rain/getting swatted by someone on a bike who hits it while parallel parked).

            Sounds like a GeorgeGraves project. What ever happened to that guy?

                  Those look like the recaros that came factory in 3rdgen trans ams.

                  I'm sure they have an actual name and came in other cars but I don't know anything else.

                    I was going to say the one with no leg bolster looked like the ones that come in turbo Firebirds. The other one looks like a MK2 Recaro.

                      I've spent the last two hours trying to finagle my m50 into the car. I don't see how to do it. Either the head hits the firewall or the motor mounts are too low. Fucking hell, is there some magic trick?

                        Loosen up the rubber mounts on both sides and both alloy arms. Both arms need to be mounted as far back as possible. The pass side arm needs to be installed upside down (with the heat shield facing up.) It's a little tricky, but with a little time, it is doable. GL!

                          Holy shit I'm retarded. I read about the upside down but didn't do it. Thanks broseidon.

                          Oh and the turbo firebirds came with ET looking seats;

                          I think only 82-84 trans ams could be optioned with the recaros but an MK2 friend of mine had mentioned at some point that he thought all those seats were the same, just different mounting brackets because he bolted the recaro from his trans am into his gti. All hearsay though.

                            Glad you figured it out. Thanks for the info! I'll keep looking. One of them looks like a Trophy, but not 100% sure on that.

                            A friend had an ASC McLaren fox body a few years ago, and they had similar seats to what you posted. Almost like a combination of the one you posted and the one I have. lol

                              So you install the mount arm upside down, once the engine is in, do you flip it back the right way? Sorry prolly a stupid question, just curious. Hi!
