          A problem with black paint. They can be removed with a clay bar and machine buffing, Make sure you dry your car everytime you wash it especially if you are on well water.

                                Okay guys I need some advice.

                                I just picked up some Yakima 1A rain gutter towers for a roof rack. I have never used gutter towers before. They don't seem rock solid stable unless I really tighten them down and risk bending my trim and gutter. I did find that there are rubber "tower boots" that go over the bottom but they don't look thick enough to do anything. Will those solve my problem?

                                Also, I don't want to spend $70 on bars or cut down the bars that go on our suburban. I am thinking Home Depot will have some pipe or maybe another hard ware store. Any thoughts? I don't think they would really be all the different. The only thing these are used for is snowboards. No real weight goes on them.
