He was asking for a friends 535i, which is an M30 which if im not mistaken runs off of dual 2in exhausts from factory. I could be wrong however.

M50 is a different story, not really worth putting money into ;)

radius of 1.75" pipe is .875" - thus the section area is .76pi square inches
X2 = 1.5pi square inches

radius of 2.5" pipe is 1.25 - thus the section width is 1.56pi square inches
