Take the ticket to the court, and ask fot timely discovery. They will give you a court date within a week, and you have to serve a subpoena to the officer. Most of the time they won't show, in which case the ticket gets dropped.

Just pay the ticket dude. Your gonna use a defer for five over the speed limit? Use it for something worth it, like doing 75 in a 30. Technically not allowed but when the judge offered it to me I corrected her and she appreciated it so she set that up for me.

What exactly is keeping you from paying the ticket? Even if you do defer it there still is a deferal "administration" fee which I remember being like 125-175.00? Just saying from my own experiences in the great city of Edmonds.

A defferal is only one year. 365 days of not speeding/texting/putting on your makeup isn't too hard.

WHen you use a defer, you have to keep your driving clean for a year.

BUT you cant get another deferral for 7 years.

Im calling insurance today to see what will happen. Ticket is only $113. not too bad

I've gotten tickets and noticed that ins companies sometimes will go a long time between checking your record--i've had a ticket on my record for more than a year before it was discovered.

Will ask for a contested hearing? I will say I I just bought the car and am still getting used to driving it and I was coming down a hill, etc. This way I dont plead guilty and can maybe get it dismissed (lets hope so). I believe the officer who gave me the ticket is a designated traffic cop so he will likely show up.

If judge doesnt buy my plea then ask to have the ticket deferred.

People get tickets, you got one, I've gotten one. I don't go on an internet forum telling people who are going through hell getting their cars repaired to F-Off because I broke the law.
