I just can't stand things mounted on my dashboard or windshield or in cubbies sticking out everywhere, I much prefer things to be flush.

If you don't care for it, feel free to get all sorts of cigarette lighter mounts and suction cup'd nonsense and all that other madness.

That is a work in progress. It is going to fit in the cubby below, but you have to relocate the AC/recirculate buttons (which will then move to that blank spot to the left of the tablet). It's been done before so I know that it's feasible. Just remounting everything is a mess.

That or the e46 armrest (or both) will be my annual project to get the car ready for show season.

I thought about doing that but tactile controls for things that you want to change quickly are a must.

Think of changing your volume. It's the most annoying thing in the world to do that digitally while you're driving. Changing your temp/vents would be more or less the same. Tesla solved this by doing a HUGE interface with a set of permanent controls on it. I don't want to build out automation for every single control in the car then build a new interface to handle it all, so the tablet is for very specific purposes (music control, navigation, youPorn, etc.)

I can geek out on this kind of stuff for a while, the focus of my degree was Human-Computer Interaction.

                    Sigh...

Exhaust sounds terrible right now... I went down there and made an appointment for him to clean it up. He was super chill about it.

Most exhaust shops will fix a mistake that made.

Hell, a few years back, I was driving and one of the junctions broke on the resonator! Entire exhaust fell off. I brought it back to him, and he made me a new/better exhaust...foooooo FREE!
