Am I the only person who doesn't understand the appeal of alcantera? it mattes down easy and looks like a weird velvet. Especially on steering wheels why would one ever use it over leather?

Mostly that it looks cool as fuck when done well and feels nice, but it really has more of a place in expensive cars and not old as hell e30's. Or anything that can get dirty or is touched by hand.

That's why I question it for steering wheels ever. Headliner maybe, but we touch steering wheels

For racing applications it's supposed to work well with gloves made from suede or similar material.

I'm about to order a clutch kit is there anything else I should get while the tranny is out? Outputs shaft seal?

Pivot bushing, pivot spring, pilot bearing, throwout bearing, input seal, output seal, selector rod seal, engine rear main seal, new flywheel and clutch bolts.
