I've seen beat to shit e30 for sale ads better than this loooooool.

If you're going to slap a serious price tag on a car, you should spend some time the ad.

Looks like a pristine car though..

Wondering why it is tagged the "best year"? As far as I know, the only "best year" in North America would be the 1994 Canadian e36 M3 which had the REAL S50 motor with 6 throttle bodies and 298hp... This is the $42,500 question for a car that has seen a huge production number.
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Car is beautiful, but I agree with the others on price. I seem to remember an LTW selling for about the same on Bring a Trailer.

EDIT: To add There's two DV on dove here in FL, albeit many more miles on them. We have done a lot of work on one of them here at the shop.

            1995 BMW M3 43k original miles

The lightweight version in similar condition and miles, are north of $100,000 USD. Trying to upload more pictures hopefully it will work this time.

            Thank you.

Asking and sold can be miles apart. The 100 mile LTW went over $100k at auction (reserve not met), but haven't seen any others. Just like the e30m3 "bubble" car that sold for 6 figures last year. You have a super clean car, but when you have been a member for 4 years with 0 posts to date, and put up a vague for sale ad, there will be some criticism.

EAG is actually a better price-check than an auction since there will be no bidding wars, but they seem to be the pinnacle of nice classics...

Hope you get your asking price! GLWS!

OP please construct a proper build thread for this vehicle. Inbed several photos and add some real information about the car. It would really help the sale.

Hey guys while I am new to E30s, I have been driving, posting, owning and doing just about everything with E36 M3s since the late 90s....so thought I would give you my "opinion" here with some fact sprinkled in. This forum has been a wealth of knowledge for me so hopefully this helps yall and the seller.

-No doubt these are becoming collectible and very hard to find in this condition. It took me a year to find my 99 Dakar car which is similar condition to this but a few more miles
-OBD 1 WAS preferred to enthusiasts because it was easier to tune and responded better to bolt on mods however that was in the early 2000s. Now you can get the exact same power more efficiently in an OBD 2 car which is 96-99 (and a 3.2 with more tq vs. a 3.0)
-The 1995 (first year of US M3) is not the most desirable. The most desirable years are 98.5-99 coupes. These are the last M3s built, they have the best quality paint, the best options/features and they were constructed with better materials, clips, glues etc from BMW in the interior as the earlier cars were prone to just kinda falling apart, peeling, drying up and sagging in weird places. All coupes from 98.5-99 were also manual.
-The color is rare, along with most of the colors in the early built cars such as Avus Blue (which is more desirable than this), Mugello Red and a few others - because BMW changed to a better clear coat in the 1996 models as these are prone to peel - so something to look for specifically in the roof, trunk lid and hood areas. The colors were replaced with either a newer version of the color (i.e. Dakar Yellow I vs. Dakar Yellow II) or a replacement color of similar shade, so for this one it was replaced with Techno Violet.
-Dove leather interior is the least desirable interior for the E36 M3, but it does go well with the purple and blue cars
-I have seen this car for sale for a while in other places - and I think the accuracy of the sale ad and the price are deterring buyers. It should definitely fetch a premium assuming it is as clean as stated, but probably somewhere between 25k and 30k IMO. I would think a later model E36 M3 in a desirable color combo (ie Estoril, Alpine, Dakar) with similar mileage would sell for about the same - all closed BAT listings and other sale ads would put this right around that price range.

Hope this helps anyone interested and/or the seller make the ad more clear.

Yes that is a very early (likely 94 production) 95 model. That shade of red actually literally looks tangerine orange under certain street lamps. This one probably even has a tilt wheel, which was a very early feature in the E36 M3, removed in late 95 and never offered on any other E36 M3.

The price is right on the money for a car needing resto

Good call - ETK shows that VIN being built in April '94 (seems super early compared to BMW's usual start dates of September).

I've never seen that color before, reminds me of Henna on the early E30 M3.

                            Nice

Stick the car in at no reserve on BAT. It will get what its worth.

                            Example

                            a 95 lightweight sold for $154k.

Bid for the chance to own a 100-Mile 1995 BMW M3 Lightweight at auction with Bring a Trailer, the home of the best vintage and classic cars online. Lot #3,197.

It may not get what you want, but it should yield a fair market reasonable price with the mileage etc.

The assumption is that want to sell the car at a fair price: premium market value.

                            gl

I usually refrain from posting in FS ad's but since this is an E30 forum and this car isn't...I'll post my .02. I appreciate the E36 M3 but I don't get US spec E36 M3's (save LTW) fetching over 20k, let alone twice that. They are not and never will be rare. Yes, a premium for color and mileage is fine but how much? How much for a car that you can find all day for $4-6k on the lower end of the spectrum? The only M3 that is practically bumpers, skirts, trim and mirrors away from lesser models? The only M3 that didn't get the engine it was supposed to get? I get it may take a year to find the right color combo and condition of an E36 M3 but that's not really saying much. There are plenty of them out there...too many and a year really isn't that long at all compared to other sought after cars that people search 5-10 years for. Obviously, I get nostalgia and it's very clean, ultra low mileage but this is not a significant car in the way it should have been and for that reason it is and always has been the redheaded stepchild of the litter. Since they came out they've been the car to drive and have fun with but collectible ? Too many and too watered down for the mass market. GLWS though. I agree, BAT is the best venue for this car. Damn near half the cars on this site run S50/S52 engines, suspensions etc thanks to those numbers. People still buy whole E36 M3's just to part them out so please understand where I'm coming from.
