~$60 for a chip to run two windows. how's that sound?

PS - thermal window crack will not be available due to the lack of constant current to the switch circuit (i.e. the windows can't opperate with the car off)

Not enough current, but good idea.

Nice! So one chip runs the two windows...does that mean that both windows will function together or will you be able to for example lower the left window and leave the right one up?

I would definately be down for a kit. That would be a godsend for those of us with convertibles. Holding down those four buttons for the 10 seconds or so it takes is pretty annoying.

When I say it will work two windows, it will work them individually. It will just be all programmed into one chip. Thus you'll need one chip for a 2-door and two chips for a 4-door or cabrio.

Right now, we're going to make the prototype with the e30 switches. The two-stage e36 ones should follow soon after I get switches to test.

which will also work for any1 who did the one-stage e36 switch i assume.

Should. The switch is pretty much the same.

I just have my e30 ones right now. I think Scott sent out some 1 touch ones today.

We're hopefully going to work out the program for the chip on a test board at PSU's EE lab soon. At that point we just need to send the 'map' of the chip to a company to get one made for the prototype.
