Question on the E46 style alarm, are the chirps for disarming and arming a typical Viper one? or is it the actual Euro BMW style chirp? and how difficult is it to install and replace my old viper alarm system?
Sorry i get picky how my alarm sounds plus its outdated :(

Finally found someone willing to cut this. It wasn't easy though ... the machine must be set up just so ... apparently the BMW locks are very sensitive to how deep the cuts are made.I'm having a hard time finding a shop that's willing to cut the keys of my flippers. It simply wouldn't fit at the nearby hardware store. At the locksmith he shut the cutter down almost immediately saying he didn't want to have to replace a $160 cutting wheel. Can anyone in JAX name a shop that will cut these?Leave a comment:

It has been brought to my attention that the instructions are a little lacking on how to disable the auto arming when you turn off the car. You will need to open up the control box by removing the 4 screws and physically alter the board. I have ordered shunts and will include them in all future kits. If you already ordered a kit and do not want to solder a wire please let me know and i will mail a shunt out to you.

Tell him although it looks expensive, it's just chinese pot metal. Everything will be fine. =]I'm having a hard time finding a shop that's willing to cut the keys of my flippers. Sure. Just don't connect the brake wire. Thats its only purpose.Leave a comment:

No, this is the feature I'm asking about:
Sorry for not making myself clear. I want to disable that feature while retaining the others.Central door locking automation (locks the doors when you press the brake after starting)Leave a comment:

The procedures on how to program remotes to the alarm are in the instructions. The keyless is a different story. I'll ask the factory for programming procedures. So I just bought the E46 style alarm, and already have the flip style keyless. Thinking that I could use the flip keys, and my wife can use the E46 style she prefers.
Then I completely forgot that the keys are coded to the control box!
Is there anyway to reprogram it?
Thanks
Ross
Yes the automatic locking (car locks itself after you turn the car off and close the door) can be turned on and off. Procedures are in the instructions.Leave a comment:

What do you mean by "auto locking"? - iF you are referring to an auto "re-lock" -? I don't think your term are correct - I've installed dozens of the kind of alarms. Or me a flavor - PM me or the OP.Leave a comment:

No no, I want to install the alarm, but without the auto-locking feature. IE, all the features, except that one.Leave a comment:
