    E39 Fuel Rail Question

Just wanted to get confirmation before I pull the trigger on anything.
I've read on here that the e39 fuel rail is an option for running an integrated FPR on the S52/other 24v swaps, while retaining the fuel rail beauty cover and hiding the fuel lines in the rear of the car. Unfortunately, I can't find any for sale in the US. I did find some available on UK/EU Ebay, and I'm thinking of buying since I'm gonna be overseas this winter.
Can I use any e39 fuel rail, with the hoses located next to the FPR? Is there a specific year I need to look for? I'm seeing some from 1997-2000 E39, with PN #13531436468
    Looks like this:

Yes, that is the same setup I have on my car. All the e39 fuel rails are the same from what I understand.

Is it any different from the s52 rail, other than the FPR? And does it take any modification to fit?

It will bolt to the M52 manifold directly. If you have an M50 manifold, you'll need to make some small tabs to mount it.
It uses quick release fuel connectors. I tried to flare mine for hose clamps and basically ruined it.

I don't think there are any differences to it/fitment other than the FPR being built into it.

I have one for sale. $40+shipping from CA.

I had heard this rail was the "go-to" thing because I didn't know what the 3/2 valve was, but since I was building the car for emissions, I got the valve and it actually wasn't a problem for me to set it up. So that's why I have this rail sitting around.

The E39 follows the standard M52/m52tu/m54 progression.
So the early cars will have a single vanos M52,
mid- range cars get the M52tu with the odd throttle
body and 3/2 return valve and such, and the
late cars have the M54 standard non return rail
with a regulator in the filter, as the post- tu E46s have.

www.realoem.com is accurate for this range of cars.
