Header selection ? for M50 swap

Would these headers work good for my E30 M50 swap?
I wonder if the stock manifold downtubes would work with em?
    thx

Those are OBD2 S52 headers, will work with your swap, need to plug o2 sensors and secondary air ports, will mate up to obd2 midpipes with a little massaging. I am running said setup and it works just fine.

      Ok,
Do you have any pics of your exhaust setup in other threads? I might go this route, sounds like it would make more Horsepower and better sound.
Where would the O2 sensor plug in?
      Thanks,

Anyone recognize these headers? Guy wants $250, says he paid $1100 and they might be MSDS.

Good headers? worth it? They came off his M3 LTW.

I have the obd2 headers. To make them fit better, I cut the front header about 3 inches from the flange and clocked it so it wouldn't point straight at the subframe.

Were they the same as the SS reps or did they have $1000 quality?

I'm also seriously considering the CARR shorty headers. The M54 is a strong low and mid range motor so these might suite me well..

Those look like Genie headers to me.

I'd get the Turner ones if they weren't $800. Is it worth getting really good collectors on shorty headers??

With the pipes just butting together in a straight cut like that, it doesn't matter much if they're short or long. most of the velocity is lost with the large void area in the center where the primaries join together. you basically lose any scavenging benefit a good header would provide.

Wow. Some of you are spending more on headers than I've spent on my entire M50 swap! I might just use the stock E36 manifolds/downpipes and have it welded into my E30 exhaust and let it rattle-fart until I can afford a better exhaust system lol

That actually worked very well for me. It fit great and made good power.

I use stainless reps, random cat from my old car, then the rear muffler from my 91 318is. Doesnt seem slower than my old car, less rasp, sounds pretty damn good actually.
