    You did use flanges out of Med case E30 diff not ones out of the 318is small case right? because those are different.

      I'm using the ones from my 4.10. 318is uses a small case?
      Looking at a build from
      Jack Benny, he mentions that he uses his stock flanges

            Your 318is uses a small case differential. The flanges you need are from a medium case differential in the 325s and shit like that. His analogy just was saying it wouldn't work even though it was a bad analogy to begin with.

                Basically you need output flanges from a 6 cyl e30.

                  right, since the 318is uses the same CV shafts as the 6cyl cars, but the diff is narrower, they made the output flanges wider to make up the difference.

                    NANDO, you're the only one who understands me. Basically you're confirming that the output flanges from the 318is are "longer" because they use a smaller case but the same axles
