My daily driver is an e39 540i 6speed and at times it feels faster. I know the 540 couldnt post up a time like that though. I am much more confident in the e30 now.
I edged an e39 540i with my M54 and I'm a high 13 second car.
what have you been driving that makes you think it would be faster than it is? You should take me for a ride, I'm curious what an s52 feels like.

Did you drop tire pressure a bit to see if it would help at launch?
What's your rear suspension set-up?
Thanks guys! I didnt try dropping tire pressure. I never tried a burnout either, went around the water everytime. I went out very unprepared. I had no helmet and didnt know what the requirement for needing one was. I had to borrow one after that first run :p. I am running turner j-stock springs with bilstein sports.
Now I am curious to get the car dyno'd because the previous owner of the engine was unsure of the mods because his uncle built the s52. It didnt pull as hard as I was expecting after finishing the swap and I thought I may have overlooked something but it looks like its all good!
I ran my car last night at the Woodburn dragstrip. I have never gone to the strip before and my first run was my best for the night. Here is the slip.
It was 80 degrees out.

TRM chip, 21lb/7k

I am very happy with the result and now that I have been to the strip I cant wait to go back.
Wow nice work! Trap speed is definitely capable of high a 12.9x! :woowoo:
Get that 60 ft. down to 1.9 and you're golden! :D:D:D

Yeah, the tires are getting pretty slick. I'm gonna try and fit 215s or 225s just don't know if I can.
New chip and injectors are sitting at the house waiting to go on. And I did have a 3.73lsd but I do alot of highway driving. Plus I figured it would only maybe save me a couple tenths because I spin alot with that diff.
Need some wider rear tires to get the 60' down and should trap sub 13.5 and ~105-6 ;)
then can bump the gearing too and shoot for 13.2, strip some weight, dave can build you a high locking LSD and then you can shoot to go 13 even after you get the right chip setup :P

Unplugged 3.5" MAF, K&N filter w/ no heat shield, underdrive pullies, eBay headers-single 2.5" w/ single in single out 2.5" magnaflow, Technica Motorsports tune, 205/55 Goodyear Eagle GTs.
My MAF is unplugged for now because there was a miscommunication on specs for the motor and the tune is for a 3" MAF so the motor freaks the @&;!:'s out and runs like "poopdick." And I'm also working on a heatshield because I know my intake temps are upwards of hell degrees.
EDIT: the swap was done by a good friend of mine. Markert Motorwerks. Does awesome work!
Thanks for clearing that up for me..:)... nice to know that there is an alternative for m3 cams... good times...maybe with some wight reduction and good tires ...you can hit 13s...:D
