That works -- but you're going to give up on your vibrant muffler right away?

This is my exact setup and I am happy with the sound, just not the fitment of the dual out pipe (too big). It is at the upper end of my noise wants and some day I'll probably swap to a longer magnaflow, greater than 14" to hopefully quiet it a little further.

Problem with magnaflow is that they don't make any mufflers with 2.5 inch inlets :(

The real problem with magnaflow is they don't make the outlets close enough together. Who wants 2" spacing between tips?? Ain't nobody got time for that

I may have to go with the Borla resonator or the ultra quiet Vibrant resonator then. Whatever ends up cheaper I guess.

That's because Magnaflows with that inlet/outlet spacing aren't meant to be exit mufflers.

Either get a dual in/single out and make the tip custom

                          Plenty of people make Tips.

                          For example...
Free Shipping - Vibrant Performance Exhaust Tips with qualifying orders of $109. Shop Exhaust Tips at Summit Racing.

Im probably doing a Vibrant Resonator TO a Magnaflow, to those tips.

I am definitely not happy. I like the stock sound better that had a growl as I went up in RPM. I gues it is a preference thing, but I def do not like it. It is loud and raspy. Sounds like a Honda in my opinion from inside the car. My e36 has a Dinan exhaust which sounds MUCH better. It is quiet, stock sounding, but has a wonderful engine droning sound at higher RPMs. You cant really hear it much when you drive except for in tunnels and driving next to a wall. But that sound is much better than the Vibrant in my opinion.
As I've stated numerous times to various people, Vibrant are LOUD. You absolutely need either a middle muffler or a Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator.

Here's how my red car sounded with eBay headers, single 2.5" , with a borla pro-xs mid-muffler > the Vibrant:

This was my first set-up with factory s52 manifolds:

                            3" piping + 3" Vibrant high-flow cat + 24" Accelerator Truck Series Muffler + 3" Vibrant Street Power Muffler

^ i'm considering a 3" for my s52 swap for future expandability (read: s54 in a couple years). was 3" too much for a stock s52 in your experience? not in terms of loudness, but rather power/torque.

Yes it's quieter but you have the recorder in different spots each time. That last one is 90 degrees so it's going to be significantly quieter.
