Idle problem located. Brake booster vacuum leak in the cabin. I can hear it. Tested by plugging the booster vac port and letting it idle. Looks like this booster is no good.

Question about booster less brakes, can you keep abs?

I like the breaks feel of the 944 booster, just don't want it to leak

Yes, boosterless brakes work with ABS.

In my opinion, if you can retain a booster, do it. It's a little easier to modulate at the limit.

The new master is bolt on if your old one has two lines going into it. My '84 had three so I had to tee the two front lines together which is more difficult than it sounds.

I ordered a rebuilt 944 unit from summit for about the same price.

OK so I need some more help here.

Throttle cable. My throttle is sticky at the top of travel, and it isn't smooth traveling. I cleaned and lubed the throttle body and no improvement.

I think the issue is that the e34 throttle cable is too long. I have to loop it to get to the throttle body, and this could be causing the poor actuation. What cables are other people running? Any pictures?

That's strange because my E43 throttle cable is the perfect length.

I use the e34 cable much like everyone else with no issues. What linkage setup are you using?
