    Also noteworthy that all the starter rings for the I6's are the same diameter, giving a nice visual reference point.

    Based on the distance from the starter ring to the friction surface, I'd bet money that yours is 240mm vs 228mm like the RHD M20 flywheel below:

      I just edited my post, I was unaware there were a couple non-M 6s that used the 240mm clutch (1995 - 11/95 E36 323i - 6 cyl & 1994 - 99 E36 328i w/ M50, M52 2.8L - 6 cyl)

        The ring gear for both 24v clutches, yes, the m20 is different (your pic is m20). That's why when using a Getrag in a 24v swap we need to use the m20 starter.

          Anything that got the ZF should have the 240mm clutch. From what it looks like on realoem, the euro 323 got zf, USA got Getrag.

            I should've included the word diameter in there, fixed.

            Also a good point that you can tell which engine it's from by the gear cut. I didn't quite make it that far.
