Would the radiator out of an M42 (with expansion tank on the side of the rad) be sufficient enough to cool a 2.5l M50?

    Thanks

I used the e36 five speed getrag and the driveshaft from a 85 automatic worked perfect, so yours should be the correct length. 26.25 inches from the front side of the guibo to the mounting hole on the CSB.

Also I would go from 2.79 up to 3.25 on the diff. this engine like to pull more than wind up quickly.

Is it the same size as the e30 325is? If not do not risk it, get either a e36 325 radiator or get a race built one for the e36. There is NO reason to skimp on the cooling system, especially if it will ever see the track.

Here is a link that is the best I can come up with. Should work for the m3 as well. Do not be afraid of the c-101, it is the vital link.

I would say cut the engine plug off the s14 engine harness and one off an e36 m3 (from the body side) and creat an adapter.

e30 5-spd drive shaft works perfectly with the e36 325 5-spd. needs to be pulled at splines maybe 3/4" at most. however you will need the e30m3 driveshaft for the e36m3 trans. just to clearify.

Cool. Thanks, guys. Also, where do the hoses from the PCV valve on the valve cover run to? I'm assuming the big end runs to the intake bellow? What about the small one?

Yeah, one goes to the intake boot. I think that the other one goes to a nipple on the bottom of the intake manifold, but I could be wrong.

Is the intake temp sensor required? Can I just bypass it? Is it an electrical sensor?

Why do you ask? The m50, as I found out relies on most all the sensors on the harness. Other than the o2 sensor, it will probably run like shit.

You know the two coolant temps sensors in the front part of the head? Well I switched those plugs when I swapped the rear of the two for the m20 one. Ran like shit when cold, and crap when it was to running temp.

So leave the coolant temp sensor on the M50 alone? I read somewhere that you were supposed to swap the m20 one in. I assume it was just to have the temp gauge read correctly? How far off is it if I leave it stock?

402 should have no troubles. (Just know that it's a non-VANOS DME)

There are two sensors right next to each other, swap the rear of the two with one from an m20 to get the correct reading.

They are on the head, under the intake manifold, behidn the oil canister.
