This is an Evo MR. Which is exactly what I raced and even talked to the driver afterwards.

The words from his own mouth, "Damn man what do you got in there?!" First words he said when he rolled down his window when we hit the next light.

I have nothing else to prove to you. I'll own up to my words and shove it in your face when I get the "sufficient evidence" you obviously need to believe me.

On a lighter note, did you ever get your ETM wiring that you needed? When do you think you'll be done with your swap?

If I remember correctly an Evo MR is a 6 speed car with closer geared ratios than my zf with a 2.93 lsd. So that can't possibly be a factor. If I had a 3.25 lsd paired with my zf tranny with a full exhaust setup (ebay headers [equal lengths], aa trackpipe, uuc catback exhaust) i would have definitely walk the Evo MR hard.

Seems like you guys like to doubt without sufficient evidence like time slips and dyno's. No point in singing if I ain't being heard.

Psh. 5-lugs look better =P Plus I could run 17 LTW rims with 235s all around. =)

When I have money to invest in larger wheels/tires/5-lug I'll definitely hit up the strip. Only thing is the full exhaust / retuned chipped comes first.

Since we did it on a roll, launching was irrelevant. It was all about power to weight ratios when we ran. Considering we both were of the same weight (by this I mean the driver not the car) and with no passengers it was a pretty even race.

I've read many stock Evo MR's running 13.7 - 13.8s. I don't know if the one I raced had any mods but he did change his BOV that's for sure. Doubt he did anything else.

Evo MR is not a 13.8 second car first of all, more like a low 13 second car. The problem is most people don't launch the awd cars hard (I remember when I still had my awd car a few years back in autox, I used to launch it everytime at 5-6k rpm, you get just a little wheel spin and off you go) and bog them... but you did it from a roll so that doesn't matter i guess.

Take it to a local strip, I am curious to see what you'll run.

Lol yea. I'm getting obd2 midpipes tomorrow and hopefully a stock 96-98 exhaust along with it for emissions (although its not a problem maybe it'll save me 40 bucks).

    First Kill Story:

Driving back from Lowes getting some stuff for my girlfriends car to fix her window regulator (cable snapped) and a 2007 (or 08?) Evo MR pulls next to me then speeds up a little. I think in my head, "hrm... s52 w/ 2.93 lsd and shitting ass exhaust (obd1 midpipes with stock e30 muffler <--- so restrictive) I shouldn't try... I'll just get disappointed." So I didn't do anything at first, then we end up at a light. Go figure.

At the light I didn't do shit, I have no traction in first nor when I rip it to second gear from first so I didn't bother trying to get a launch or do anything period. But then suddenly he floors it away then stops real quick as if he was taunting me... Again... I didn't want to disappoint myself... So I thought about it more and decided to catch up to him to see what he would do and he floors it away so I gun it after him and I notice that even though he took off early I was gaining on him ever so slightly...

Next light he makes a left, and I decide to follow, this is where I was ever so happy. We line up and we're rolling in second, he hits it and I get on it. Bare in mind I was shifting at 6400 and scared to money shift lol. So end of second I start to pull ever so little and threw it into third gaining half a fender and then end of third probably about a fenders length ahead.

The verdict: I was faster! YAY! LOL. Flame on me all you want, I don't condone racing anywhere but I just needed some piece of mind of where I stood with this swap. It felt oh so good to be pulling on an Evo MR. If only I had a real exhaust setup... (Ebay manifolds/AA track pipe/UUC E36 M3 exhaust <--- What I really want)... I would pull a lot harder on the guy. Boy that was fun...
