Looking good. Coming along nice, and freaking fast as well. Nice pics w/ details, I like it. Check the e30 wikipedia for the wiring stuff on plugging the harness into the motor, that's how I wired mine and haven't had issues.

That's awesome. I wish I could do a 6 speed and to keep my 3.73. You're putting in a 2.93 lsd diff on a 6 speed? The very least you would want to use a 3.46lsd as the 6 speed doesn't suffice top speed over torque. So essentially if you used the 2.93 on a 6 speed your gears would be too long and your top speed would be over 190 mph. LOL. From what I read people usually go up a notch on the ratio's for diffs when they go 6 speed as the extra gear makes up for it.

Yea man, I'll definitely give you a call if I need extra pair of hands. But I usually like doing my own work as I love learning. If you know the ins and outs of doing a swap like this then by all means head on down here. Lol.

Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to visit that site. Ha.

          Update:

I got a e32 735i (91') booster and master cylinder at the junkyard today for 45 bucks. Comparing it to the stock booster, it looks like it'll virtually plug and play. Just gotta exchange the brake fork from my e30 booster to the e32 as its about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch longer. But other than the reservoir getting in the way of the throttle body boot it seems like a great upgrade.

Well got the booster/master cylinder on.

            What I did:

Basically, both mounting points are identical. Even the push rods are identical except for the length of the forks that attach to the brake pedal. I swapped the e30 fork onto the e32 booster with no problems. Just remember to measure the distance from the surface that mates to firewall to the tip of the fork on the e30 booster and when you put it on the e32 booster measure it at the same distance and lock it into place. From the pictures you will see the neat bending I did to the lines. Not much bending to do, but don't crimp any of the lines or your screwed. The rear line was the hardest considering it was longer than the front line so I made it loop before meeting the master cylinder. Looks good to me. =)

Here's the booster when I got it.

It was in great condition, but I didn't want to slap it on without giving the booster a quick shot of new paint. =)

Yes I masked the girling sticker up so it wouldn't look so ghetto. Ha.

Here's how it sits in my engine bay.

If you noticed in the last picture, the breather hose on the right isn't attached. I don't know what to do with it as the e30 reservoir had that nipple next to the line open and with that attached. But for the e32 reservoir its a closed off nipple. Should I just cut it open and stick the hose there? Or just leave it as is?

The spots of blue/white in my engine bay are where I shaved the mounting points for a couple of stuff and put bondo. Still gotta sand it off and paint it. But that's the least of my worries. Hopefully I could get a steering rack soon so I could get this show on the road!

If that's the IX booster, you can't use the reservoir. You've gotta use the remote reservoir in the 530i. Also, that's not a breather, that's the clutch fluid line. You'll need the e30 reservoir for the clutch fluid.

The e46 from which these 6speeds came had a 3.15 instead of the 2.93 so i am definitely not too short. First is about 4.15 or 4.25 whilst 6th is overdriven at 0.83 so a lot of low rpm cruising can be done. Jordan over on bimmerforums has a nice write-up on the ratio's on the 6speed compared to the 5speed so I do not think that I am sacrificing a lot with the 2.93.

Its a e32 735i brake booster and master cylinder. I might go with a remote reservoir for the cleaner / non interference with the boot but that's later on. I have a silicone bimmerworld intake boot that should suffice for now for clearance issues. We'll see! Thanks for the look out!

If that's the case then by all means do the 2.93! lol. What car did you pull it out from? 325es?

Looking good man, can't wait to check it out.

You can't run that reservoir, you have to run a remote one, there's no other option. On my car I ran a 2002 reservoir. They're under $30 brand new. You'll also need more of that blue clutch line and nipples to go in to the master.

Yea I figured. I read thread where you posted what you did. Only thing is that I hate is I hacked off the bracket that you rest your reservoir on. LOL. So you got the complete reservoir kit for 30 bucks? Where? What exactly did you order?

Well the reservoir is $25-$30, the nipples are about $1 each and the clutch line [and you must use that cloth blue line] is $4-$5 a foot.

735i is the same part number for the booster as the IX... Bigger master cylinder at 25mm rather than 23mm inside of that. So like mr 325 said, you can't run that reservoir.

                          I went w/ the 530i reservoir.

Didn't know the ix booster was the same as the e32s... Lol. I have e32s in the junkyard all day but no ix's... so I never knew what it looked like. So since the mc is from a 735i its a 25mm right? I'll see what I could find and use as a remote reservoir.

Yeah, if you search through the 24valve section there's a few threads all about it. All you need is a remote reservoir like mr 325 and I posted and you'll be all good.
