Good work. Told you its what everyone does... I think its a right of passage or something for first time swaps. Glad to hear its runnin, now get the exhaust on so you can go drive it.

I'm using a obd1 valve cover with new (1 year old) obd1 coils. Haven't even bothered to look at my gauges as I started the car outside of it trying to hear for abnormal sounds before I destroyed it... but non to my avail!
Things I need to get this on the road... obd2 headers welded/obd1 midpipes (So I could atleast drive to the exhaust shop) and throttle cable from a e34 m50 or any e36 325i.
Man, I never thought I'd see this day... haha. Woot!

Nice job! Are you using OBD1 or OBD2 coils with the obd2 cover?
Fuel/temp/tach working? Not asking about speedo yet as you probably haven't driven it yet with no headers lol

Fuck me... I was stupid and reversed the fuel lines... wow... I failed to notice that the lines twist before they come up to the engine bay thinking the adverse of what they really were from researching on realoem.com. Ha. Shit started up like nothing! OMFG! I'm coughing from the fumes because I have no headers on! HAHAHA. God damn it... I'm so happy. No problems but the freaking lines... how stupid. Ownedizzled.

If I'm getting spark... does that rule out the dme getting power? If the dme wasn't working then I wouldn't be getting spark correct?

Mine turned out was a ews ecu, but other things are crank sensor, which looks like the ICV I believe, my buddy got those reversed last week. Crack the fuel lines, mine wasn't wanting to go and I was positive the lines were correct, sure enough, popped the line and it had fuel, so I reversed and fired up. Friend did the same on his. So that's where I would start, even if your positive...
edit: oh yeah, tps sensor as well

=( cranks but doesn't start! AHHHHHHH! Checked for spark and I got spark. I didn't reverse the fuel lines as I double/triple checked before I hooked them up. My fuel pump isn't priming up before I start it so I'm double checking my wiring harness right now.
What things would make a car not start again? I've heard that a bad temp sensor (for ecu) would cause it not to start. Bad cps? Iono. I'm so close! It sounds like it wants to start... but its not! :x :hitler:
