So I've made a few calls and I may be able to get front boots made that will be LIFETIME boots. The rubber would be a custom material that is :
Heat resistant
Resistant to ripping
And petroleum products will not brake them down
I'm going to be getting a mold made soon and have the boots made and install them on my own car. I will not sell them till I have tested them for 5k miles or more.
If you are interested please list your user name. This is not a group buy yet. I need to know who's interested. Please let me know what you would be willing to pay for these please be serious I am investing my own money to bring a product to the ix market that I'm sure all of us are sick of doing.

So these lifetime boots are warrantied? Are you associating a better material boot that should last longer with lifetime or is a warranty part of the lifetime description. How to remove, install or convert to pop out windows

I will warranty then for x amount of miles but not forever and I am looking for a life time boot or minimal 20 years.
Like I said though I will be testing these to see what they can handle track use daily use freezing conditions summer hear with headers and such. I will not sell them until I have tested the hell out of them.Float like a cadillac sting like a Bimmer!:)

I think you have a good idea but until you know what "X" miles would be, you would not be able to put a price on them. For me to pay you twice as much as I pay for the replacements I buy off Blunttech. I would want twice as many miles out of your boots. And the boots from Blunttech come with grease. Therefore if you have boots that allow for five times as many miles I would be willing to pay five times as much.
If I were you I would get an average of how many miles the front boots last from someone who daily drives the ix all year long. Find out how many miles your boots last and divide the two, take that number and multiply that by the amount the boots from Blunttech cost. That is how much I am willing to pay, give or take 10%.How to remove, install or convert to pop out windows

Your answer to how long they last varies greatly. Some who daily there cars last a few months others a few years.
The reason I haven't set a price and asking what you all would pay for something that will last I'm hoping for 20 year And hopefully 200k plus miles. I can't sit on these for 20 years and say they last 18.4 years and 140k miles. That's why I would warranty them for 5 years and I'm guessing 40k miles.
And I'm asking the community what they would be willing to pay for a product like that. If you say I'll pay 20 then it's not worth it. It's going to cost me more than likely over 2k just to have the mold made and a custom compound that is resistant to hear, ripping, and petroleum products.Float like a cadillac sting like a Bimmer!:)

So with at least one of my front boots needing replaced within two years, I guess I could average between 15k and 20k miles in two years. This is a guess I have never actually counted the miles. Most of the boots that prematurely wear are associated with lowered ix's, as far a my knowledge.
For a 5 year 40,000 mile warrantee I would pay between two and three times as much as I would pay for the replacement boots I buy off Blunttech. How to remove, install or convert to pop out windows

Glad I could help. You might want to talk to "catuned" after you have a working proto-type. There were talks about them making reinforced front axles for the ix like their reinforced rear axles. Boots like yours would complement them nicely. How to remove, install or convert to pop out windows
