Nah, I love BMW's! and Porsche's too. Mercedes just doesn't have the heart. They are profit driven, I don't like them. On the other hand, BMW still provides advanced performance models, which for the most part is aimed towards the driver. (///M for marketing was a sad thing, oh well) The new M3 is straight killer. And the GT2 is the sexiest thing alive. In fact, even the S4 and RS6 are sweet. I just don't like MB at all.

I will never give up my bimmer, so shut up.

This is the worst thread EVER. If you ask me, Owning a Bimmer is not about STYLE or that snobbish "I own a BMW or euro car i'm to fucking good for you" Attitude. I own a Bimmer because i like its PERFORMANCE. I want to get in the car and KNOW i can depend on it. I dont care if my car isnt the hottest car around, or if it has 24" rims, just as long as it RUNS and is reliable. THATS why i enjoy Bimmers, because they are Reliable, Fun to Drive, and Perform well. I dont own a bimmer so i can snob my nose at honda owners and ford owners because they are inferior to my supreme euro styling.

So what your telling me you shouldn't be one goddamn bit surprised by my point of view?

BMW drivers are different from MB drivers......Therefore, I as a BMW driver, cannot understand why would someone want to have fast roadster, with an automatic. As a BMW driver, I couldn't really not care that much about luxury. Sure, I enjoy heated seats, leather, and OBC, but the M3 CSL is just perfect to me, without A/C or a radio. Would a MB driver ever like a CSL? Probably not.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, it's fucking America guy! Mercedes is for people who enjoy the tri-star emblem and the luxury. There's also people who enjoy the luxury and the name plate of Caddies, or Lexus.....whatever. Mercedes, in my opinion feature more people who buy just for the name-sake. MB and BMW have different people, and I happen to be Damn Proud to be a BMW Driver! :D

If you like Mercedes so much, buy one already and post on their forum. I can dislike them as much as I want! :P

DTM cars had them for aerodynamic purposes. A wiper straight up the windshield will have less drag than 2 wipers perpendicular to the cars movement.

As for weight savings, Go weigh one of you single wiper arms. You could save more weight by not eating lunch and going pee pee before a race. :roll:

I got to jump in now with both feet into this BS. Chris remember the class you need to make can't be above the max weight standards for car alone so it does help.

Why Bonarath and ACS and slew of others make these guys is because you guys will BUY them, period. The bottom line is sales equals profit and if rice sells then sell rice.

Why else would Lexus which is the conservative Toyota sell the stuff is because certin groups like it. Marketing stratgists say it will sell better so do it.

Mercedes doesn't do the wiper for marketing , a designer said that it worked more effeciently and cleaned greater swept area thats why they do it. My old VW Scirocco S from 1980 had one but that was a simple design and was center mounted not off center like our two posted cars.
