    Leather Dash Wrap "Kit"

Found this on eBay today, seemed interesting enough to share. I know it's a popular thing the 2002 community does to there dash's, and it was a option of some sort on our cars. I really dislike the seam in the middle.. Any brave souls want to click the "Buy it Now" button? :D

That kinda looks like shit. Maybe it was just installed badly, but you would think the pictures would look the best possible.

I've been saying that someone needs to make a kit like this for a while. Glad to see someone did. Too bad it looks like poo-poo. Maybe it just needs to be worked with?

Also, I don't need it to be "real" leather. Something that is designed to be on a dash, baking in the sun would be a better choice IMHO - but I'm not a leather expert.

I am currently developing a dash wrap. It is not easy at all, but this one doesn't look that great. The seam placement is one of the hardest things to decide and the placement they chose is what is causing it to not look too good IMO.

            Very cheap though considering.

About time they came out with this as an option. I despise that seam down the middle. Looks like a dash crack, which defeats the point of a wrap. If it wasn't for that, it would be great. The rest looks like it depends on how well it's installed.

A friend of mine custom wrapped his dash in vinyl leather. It looks really good. It's too bad he didn't save his templates. He wrapped everything in his cabrio, including his center console and and the rear speakers. He reupholstored his back seats to match the corbeau fronts. He did a great job on his interior.

                    Really dude?

You need me to say vinyl imitation leather? Do you need the thickness as well? The backing material? Perhaps the manufacturer? You can't deduce the meaning on your own?

I thought the same thing....vinyl leather. I knew what you meant though. A couple of local guys, Nigel/Mike both have vinyl wrapped dashes and they look awesome. For $300-400 I think it would be worth it to have a pro wrap it so the fit/finish is perfect. Would you happen to have pics of your buddy's interior?

There are lots of different vinyl finishes. Leather being one of them.

I'll try to get some pics, he doesnt take his e30 to the meet to much anymore. He rides his motorcycles in the summer.
