I haaaated HIDs before I got mine. Having them on the car really does help with others. At least to me it does. I've got my left eye which doesn't dialate correctly at all or in any sense as fast as it should. Having slightly brighter lights all the time helps keep it 'smaller'.

I still want an eye patch though...

I have my projectors aimed "standard" (as in not low or at the ground) and have never been flashed for my low beams - 55w 6k HIDs. Daniel stern is mostly right, but I think he really just wants to sell you some $600 cibies. E30 projectors work pretty well with HIDs, not anything like that audi.

E30 foglights however scatter like crazy!

I've seen 3000k in E30 fogs, they're not bad at all. It's the E36s that'll kill you (no ellipsoid at all).

DDM is sure starting to piss me off. I ordered on Tuesday and they still haven't shipped out my kit. Emailed yesterday morning and the guy said they were going to ship out that day, they didn't obviously.

You can't call them, because you get an answering machine and they will "call you back". Yeah right.

Jeff, give them a bit of time. Patience is a virtue. They don't pre-box their kits and have to gather parts from many, many orders and "assemble" them if you will. They do say it takes up to (unless you get priority shipping) a week to put your specific kit together and have it shipped out. My first order took 1 week before shipping.

Well it sounds like people havn't been having many problems with HIDs and for $30 hell I might as well give it a shot! I can just have my own experience with it and if I like it then great and if I don't then I havn't lost much. I'm gonna go ahead and order 2 sets of 35w 5k for the lows and fogs. Now what I'd really like to see is these HIDs vs Hella/PIAA bulbs.

Actually, a ricer wouldn't be concerned if the item would actually look good on his/her car, of if it's just more random shit being slapped on. I'm concerned with the cosmetics of my car because I want it to look good, even at night. :hitler:

No offense man but that's like saying as long as a car gets you from point A to point B, then that's all that matters. That's true for some people but that doesn't show much enthusiasm, and what's a car enthusiast without the enthusiast part? lol

A driving enthusiast and wanting to safely get from A to B. I don't think the "light" coming from my headlights makes the car look good. The headlights themselves help, but in general, I just keep it nice and waxed.

I'm sure the main reason people buy PNP HIDs is for looks, not for light output. Light output is just a bonus. If you can't see the road with halogens, honestly you shouldn't be driving. Just because someone has HIDs doesn't mean they're magically going to see a totally different road than me. If an obstacle is there, I'm going to see it, I don't need an HID kit for that. An HID kit undoubtedly makes your car more noticeable, and sometimes it looks better and sometimes it looks worse than before, I don't see how you can deny that lol. Like that audi earlier in this thread for example, the HIDs totally killed it.

                          Read through this: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=117367

Several other threads floating around the lighting section discussing just light output and why it's important what kelvin you get so that you can see better.

I'm sure you bought your HID's for looks. I wouldn't go so far as to say the majority of people that buy them do so for looks.

I had sealed beams. So, no, I couldn't see the road in heavy rain (I live in WA State) with candles burning on the front of my car. Yes, it does look better but no, I did not buy it for looks. That's ricer. Sorry.

Each I've ordered was the 55w kit. 5k and 6k. I figured it was $10.00 for better light output, why not. Let me know how you like the 35w kit!
