Getting the lever itself in was super easy. Modifying the selector rod was too. Bc I need to drive back to campus tonight, I needed to put it back together, but it looks damn near impossible to change the bushings without major disassembly. So far, not satisfied. Maybe once I get the bushings in, but the short shift just doesn't feel worth it so far after the test drive.

oh, and in case anyone cares...i didn't feel good about bending the selector rod as much as uuc showed, so i did a very conservative bend a minor grind.

I did it with the tranny out. It would be so much tougher with it on the body due to the way you remove the lever from the cup.

I've considered buying the BavAuto $250 SSK that reduces movement along with obviously shortening the throw. Is it worth it? I can't seem to find the Z3/4 shifter anywhere for sale as a kit. Will it reduce the movement in the shifter?

    Thanks

ok so I bought a shifter from someone at the picnic this year ans on of the numbers is rubbed off so i cant tell if its a z3 or z4 shifter so i went to kuni and Curt sat with me for a good part of an hour tryin to find out which car it is off of and what I would need to put it in. unfortunately again we couldn't find it but I will say Kuni has all the parts for the E30 to do the short shifter swap. But when i went to put it in yesterday I couldn't get the stock shifter out on the nylon cup. I had my buddy pushing from the bottom with a screw driver and I pulled form the top and it just wouldn't budge. So any ideas?
