    are there any plans of the future concerning bumping up the stock compression ratio? You almost never see someone building up a High comp m20b25.

      you need custom pistons and if you go down that path there are a pelthora of bigger cranks that you can use in that case.
      89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

        I had a b25 at 12:1 that I would rev out to 8000RPM and had to run 110or it would detonate, It was nowhere near as fast as my 2.8 that I only rev to 6000RPM. I run 100 OCt and could probably get away with pump gas, I just have not tried.

          We had a 327 on the dyno today! Hopefully the owner decides to buy the PSIK so we can get some numbers for you guys. His current set up put down 150 HP and 150 TQ to the rear wheels. It had the "SETA" bottom end and I head combo. It also had a conforti chip tuned for a 325.

          This was only slightly higher in terms of hp comapred to similar 327's we have had in the past.

          I will post the graph later this weekend.

              The PSIK has been very popular since we released it a month ago. We have 20 more being made for stock at the moment. The first 5 tubes have arrived from the mandrel bender to check their accuracy. From now on, the PSIK is mandrel bent from one piece rather than three separate pieces welded together.

              Here is a picture of the first 5 of the mandrel bent tubes and all the splash guards.

                looks umm.. internally smooth ;)

                think that 2.7 could do with some more ignition advance between about 2800-3600 as well as between about 4800-5400.

                the Jim C tune for stock B25 is very, very similar to active autowerke's B25 tune. just from comparing chip reads and files i come across on the net as well as my own experimenting there should definately be room to increase advance in those areas to help flatten out the curves (assuming its running similar compression to a stock low comp B25).

                on my low comp 2.5 im running 33 deg advance at 2800 and 38 from 3000-3600. also running 30 at 4800-5200 and 33 at 5400. havent tested/compared it on a dyno but the butt dyno thinks there is an improvement.

                  Well the customer that was here for a baseline on his 2.7 a week or so ago will be coming in tomorrow for the PSIK. We will have the "after" results with a proper 2.7L specific tune for the PSIK and some nice pictures.

                    Those butt dynos have a way of being decpetive sometimes. I spend a lot of time on the dyno and it is funny in general HP/TQ is the last thing I look at, I am stuck on AFR/EGT numbers, when I do look at power I am always looking to maximize the range in power. I love when people have 10 more peak hp than me but can not keep up because they only 2000 useable window and I have an extra 1000 RPM to play with.

                      Well the results are in, sort of... We were having to tune for a bad TPS. We didn't have any in stock and the customer was pressed for time. We were able to tune his car with our "WOT" delete software we use in situations like this. It isn't perfect but the customer will be coming back when he installs his 19# injectors.

                      This is the before and after of the PSIK, the 2.7L engine really has some potential but it is just dying off at 6 grand (seems like cam timing may be playing a role here). We were hoping to see it hit 180 WHP as it sat, but not today.

                        Someone do a 30 mph to 70 mph run with a Miller MAF and whatever else you have. It doesn't matter what gear it is done in, just start from 0, start the timer when it hits 30 and stop it when it hits 70.

                        I'd love to see how it compares.

                            This is a tune specific for the car. If you think about it, the 2.7 is only a cubic inch different so there isn't really much to be expected. However, we could not get the power to stay up after 5800 rpm. It's either a narsty cat, or this is evidence that the m30 throttle body upgrade would be a good idea.

                              it's the stock cam. you can definitely make more power in the upper RPM range with the stock TB.. not to say it isn't causing vacuum though.

                                It's not the cam. Customer says it has a shrick 272 , and we make more power on stock displacement and stock cam with exhaust and PSIK installed.
