        It can take hours to unscrew the rusted exhaust bolts that connect the exhaust and the middle section.

              Well, the topic's author wanted to change the 3 exhaust hangers.

              Parts total: $352 plus tax.

              It's definitely easier to change the exhaust hangers when the exhaust is disconnected.
              One of the hangers can be replaced easily. But the second one will need a lot of clearance, and possibly the heat shield removal.

                After releasing the hangers, remove the two trans cross member nuts and let the engine tip back. The muffler will be two feet from the sub frame - plenty of room - I do it all the time at work (also when needing drive shaft access) since the exhaust nuts/bolts are often rusted to oblivion.
