the big holset H1c spools around 3800rpms and gets full boost by like 4200rpms or something. Your supercharger probably doesnt die off till like 5k right? I think something like a gt40 or hx50 could be spooled by the time the supercharger is loosing efficiency.

my new turbonectics 60series is pretty similar to a gt35 and I get into boost at just about 3k and full boost by like 3500rpms.

yeap! that's right my M62 SC starts loosing efficiency at around 4-5K. So I will be looking at a holset HX50 then, If I find a good used one I will buy it right away and start building the exhaust manifold.

My SC setup is almost done I just need to tune it at the dyno and am ready to rock. So vids coming up shortly.

I will take your recommendation and start a new thread in project with the start of the TWINCHARGE build (turbo side)

Each 90 degree bend loses something like .25 psi so try to avoid those. You want a smooth transition into the center of the intercooler. Generally the first half (thickness) of the intercooler does 2/3 of the work so thicker is not necessarily better. You want a larger frontal surface area to scoop up as much cold air as possible. Adequate flow through the intercooler will help heat transfer, but to tightly closed fins will cause turbulence and hurt flow. As with everything, it is a compromise between too many fins and not as much as possible.

The turbo could be a hit and miss thing. I would suggest trying a program called turbo calc to help with that as you enter the engine info and it could be a good starting platform for you. Otherwise try this website http://motorgeek.com/?fullpage=true&page=flowcalc

I think the GT35R looks ok but im not sure how the cross over line works with the twincharge setup. That should be a good starting point though. I need to figure out the MS stuff too haha
Thanks for the info and the turbo calc link....

yeah the intercooler is a science on its own lol...

Am pretty excited about twincharging but I forgot that now i will also have to drop the tranny LOL and swap my exedy stage 2 rated for 250-300HP will have to come out and be replaced...

recommendations?? with the turbo side done I should be at 400-500HP pretty easy

Long time no update... raison why? Well my PS rack blew as soon as I actived the EPS. What to expect from a 20+ year old PS rack.

I also installed my new 130A alternator (the old 70A was on its way out anyways) and I needed the extra power for the EPS and new sound system.

Last but not least I installed my new 7" 6 rib pulley and sourced a nice Good year Gatorback belt for it..took a good 4 different belts to find one and only mod to the tensioner was a reversed install and its nice and tight now making almost 9PSI :)

Only thing missing now is Tuning...tuning...tuning... and get ready to pass the provincial safety.

Dyno sheet and video coming up soon...as I get an appointment.

          stay tuned...

I went out to put some gas and 1st gear I got almost 10PSI heard detonation....removed foot from gas pedal and ease it in all the way...Car is a BEAST!! I wasn't expecting this amount of boost so quick 2000 rpm not even full boost on 1st is unreal!!

            UPDATE

So to prepare for the abuse of tuning I did an oil change 20w50 Castrol dino oil with a Mobil1 filter and BPR8ES NGK sparkplugs.

I got 3/4 of the tuning done and finally working on WOT.... Full throttle my SC unleashed 12 PSI in less then 1/2 second... running 16 degrees of timing on 91 octane no detonation so Im clear to go to the dyno EXCEPT the damn Clutch slave is leaking now...

I still cant believe my exedy clutch can hold this amount of power...and survived all the detonation of street tuning..

            more to come...

I was having a weird hesitation spiking rich to 9AFR almost stalling when I transitioned to WOT.

An email was sent to MILLER performance Brody and Dan made me a tune to fix that issue and it worked :) so now I just need to finish up the tune got the Idle, low PT done and half way there for High PT and WOT.

Thanks guys much appreciated the after sales help. Did I mention how much my E30 is now a BEAST! 12 PSI seat of the pants say over 250HP close to 300HP for sure.

Thanks man! I know a LOT of people are anxiously awaiting some action vids to see my car in action.. I can understand its been a few years in the making and now its time to unleash the beast!

I did more tuning, the car was starving for more fuel (sparkplug readings) and its pretty clear with seat of the pants acceleration test that my car loves being in the 11.xx AFR its pulling much harder now. Am very pumped to see how much power am making. Today was a cooler day at around 10 degree and I got a spike of 13PSI kind of worried at this point as Im only running 30/ injectors I may be maxing them out right now.

When I install the BIG turbo (twincharge)I will need to look at tuning solutions to drive 60lbs injectors and 20 PSI of boost of compounded boost.

at 13psi my injectors were at 108%duty cycle WITH methanol. what was your AFR at 13psi? I've noticed that car runs best around 11.8AFR at WOT in boost and has the most stable idle around 12-13 AFR. for my car anything leaner than 13.5 I get an unstable idle.

Thank you, I tried getting the bish to idle ~14-15 and it wasn't liking it one bit. I am idling steady right around ~13 AFR and its perfect. Although on e85 I am able to lean it out safely and idle steady at ~16.
