I'm going with the AIT and MAP sensor setup. So it just needs to be on the filter side of the butterfly, just like it is from the factory.

Sweet baby Jesus, I'm almost ready to mount this thing. I got the IAT sensor mounted in the manifold on the engine side of the intercooler. I also got the ICV all plumbed in and mounted up nice. I made a plate to cover where the Ford ICV went. And lastly, I got a brass nipple in the manifold for the MAP sensor.
I figure I'll mount the thing and try to get it running without the belt. I can just manually open the bypass valve. Then I can dick with tuning a little and get a tune that will run well with a missing belt. Save it, then have it for reference in case I start breaking belts or something else fails.
Then a little while later, put the belt on and hold on to my fuckin hat! Of course only after I spend lots of time tuning and whatnot and so-on and so-forth.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"

It was a beautiful day here in Middle TN so I got all motivated and decided I was gonna do dis shit. So, from 10:00am til 2:00 I removed and replaced and futzed and dicked. It was on. Then I was all happy and shit cause it started and ran without the belt. And then I realized I was blinded by excitement when I was supposed to install the bitch tube and completely spaced it. Goddammit...Last edited by Ether-D; 02-22-2014, 03:30 PM.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"

I also realized that the rubber hose I have connecting the bypass valve doesn't like vacuum all that much and totally sucked in on itself. So I took a long 10 gauge copper wire and wrapped it around a 23mm socket and inserted that into the bypass hose. Works beautifully.
So now all I have to do is the whole thing over again. Buttstuff!Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"

Well my buddy's car is un-fucking-believeable. 1992 mtech2 appearance package. Auto. 67000 original miles. I have never felt a true fresh m20 and it was a very, very special thing. It is nearly a showroom condish car. I pretty much would hate him (not really, but you know what I mean) except that I know I'll get the first chance to buy it when he sells.Last edited by Ether-D; 07-14-2014, 07:11 AM.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"
