I'm sure I could do something like that. My style seems to be more geometric though.

Great. Gonna keep an eye on this thread.

If you do a turbo one might be interested in that as well for this season. Depending on price.

Larger throttle body would be nice too for the turbo one, Mustang perhaps?

Exactly my thought, being able to run a bigger throttle body would be nice.

I so want this for my m30.

I've got to learn how to weld.

            ....

I only have a mig welder so I can't weld aluminum. I just measured, made a mockup out of wood, then cut out the plate and took it to my local welding shop to let him buzz it together. It was a bit of a crap-shoot though. I really had to go to great lengths to make sure it got built very square and parallel. A bit of a one-shot deal. The welder did a great job though. I think he really likes getting to do something different. He said he'd weld these up all day if I wanted him to.

Yea, before I moved, I had a guy like that. He'd spend 30 mins asking questions about what it was making, and 10 mins welling a perfect row of nickles. Those are the kind of guys you want to surprise with a case of beer once in a while. They are hard to find, and worth every penny.

Funny thing is - they usually know more about what you're making than you do....but they keep it to themselves. They are *that* experienced.

He is exactly like that. Even the keeping it to himself part. I could tell he was trying to find out how much I knew without telling me how much he does.

Why not go to an electric fan?

I'm trying to keep it as OE as possible at first. I just want to make sure it will fit a stock late model m20. Ya know, if it becomes a kit or whatever.

Did you check the hood clearance yet?

It's tilted a bit more on the stand than in actuality. It's right at about the same height as the stock manifold at it's highest point. That said, I'm dying to cut a hole in this hood and put an actual functional hood scoop on. The hood is getting replaced eventually because of some substantial dings anyway. So if it does hit, I'll just cut it.

It wouldn't take much in future incarnations, to lower it some more, there's a ton of room under it.
