I've only seen 1 plug that attaches to the dizzy and that's the advance sensor (iirc) with the green wire(s) and 2 position connector.

Did .030 plug gap still had a little lumpy idle. Bumped up to .034 but lost a little top end. Gunna push it back to .032. I think I over advanced a little also. Power band was lacking around 4k & maxed out at 5800rpm. Feels a little late on power so I dialed it back a bit & now I've got good pull at 4k till about 5600.

I vaguely remember something being plugged in here a loooong time ago. I was looking around from some lose wire found nothing. All that's connected is the position connector & the advance hose.

Odd thing happened 2day. Was working around my center console & had the lighter wires out. they touched & sparked now my idle started acting up agian & the fuel relays started clicking agian. Odd.

Not sure how they were connected, but could of just been a chain of events type thing. Was going to try to just reconnect the intake grounds, but will have to w8 until 2morrow

          Thoughts?

E30, it looks like a ground to me, perhaps just to ensure it is well grounded.
2 questions- Where do you hook up an aftermarket tach to get a good reading on the RPM

and Has anybody used the adjustable cam gear to advance the cam?? how far can you advance the cam before Mr.Piston meets Miss Valve?? and the poor oil pan fails to contain vital engine components?

Aftermarket tach should have a pick-up that goes around the coil wire. As for the other information, might check around on bmw2002faq.com

e30 m3 clutch is larger than the m10. the pressure plate is also taller. It wont fit in the bell housing of the 318 trans. I am running a puck plate from IE and have never had a problem with it (even at 250+whp) I still run the factory pressure plate.

I might get a chance to get my m10 running on a standalone engine management system for free! :D

So i'm figuring out which parts i'm going to need, since my m10 is running on Dellorto carburettors i won't be needing al the injection parts, just the ignition.

Where do the m10's get their crankshaft position from? is there a sensor in the distributor or something?

I would like to have something like this:

I know this picture is from a M42, anyone knows if it will fit on a m10?
Or any other good options which will fit to a m10?

02 again has a 36-1 trigger wheel. It's only 1 belt, but there might be a two belt option. I'm using it to trigger my megasquirt. Tom also has a edis bracket to go along with that. If you want cam timing you could probably set up something on the old dizzy

Should I still run 20-50 oil when winter comes around? Or should I bump back to 10-40?

I am. I have to top up about 1/4 quart every 3-4k miles. That's more because of my bad valve stem seals.

Yup, Redline 20w50 baby! Helps in high temps and I don't have an auxiliary fan anymore. Plus, my motor spends a lot of time in the higher RPM's and it makes me happy knowing my motor is well protected. That being said, I have all new seals, so it doesn't leak out everywhere
