Is the "psik" a war-chip/cai? sorry if that's a dumb question.
The PSIK does not need te WAR chip. You can use the WAR chip if you want, you just have to have the PSIK tune in some form or another.

The PSIK comes with the tube, MAF, new silicone elbow, air filter and splash guard as well as the tune.

Both if you will. My car is bone stock except for the muffler which is a modified stock one with 2.5" perf cores straight through to the stock (2.5")tips.

    Money waiting...
I will do a one of two things. Guarantee you get 17 - 20 peak HP and 20+ HP gained under peak. OR pay for your baseline and after dyno time so you aren't out any additional money. Choice is yours.

Also you have to make sure your TPS is working, and looking at the baseline will prove if it is or not.

Yes, I have nothing to do with installs, it was just brought to my attention that there was something unmovable in the way because of how the engine sits in the x

13 PEAK HP over MAF. the largest gain over stock with the PSIK is 30+ HP at 5200ish RPM
as i was saying earlier clearly there is more to it than reducing the restriction because reducing the restriction won't gain 17lbft at 3000rpm.

surely you can just sell it without attaching the MAF or sending a chip?

Tuning plays a key, but only because of the characteristics provided by the PSIK. The engines timing curve is pretty much identical PSIK vs MAF, the fuel maps are what are really retuned between the two and its this increase in flow that is making the power. Engine are air pumps which everyone understands, the more air flowing through it te more power. The PSIK is doing just that, allowing air to move through easier.

that's really unfortunate since i've been meaning to get one for awhile.

if it werent just one solid piece i could rearrange some things. looking at a pic of it in the engine bay, it does indeed look like the air filter sits directly where the subframe is. but what would the issue be with simply flipping it around 180* and having the air filter face backwards? on a normal e30 you'd hit the subframe, but on an ix that space is clear. i'd worry about water though.

On the next batch, I will save one tube sans MAF flange for you. It will probably be mid summer.

20+ for $650 is a lot of HP per dollar. I am going to step up and be the r3v guinea pig.
I see when ordering there is an option for M20 or M30 TB. I have access to a M30 TB, is it worthwhile to do this on my stock engine?

If you can machine an adapter easily it is. We were going to do one but have been skeptical about the actual demand for them.

The PSIK will ship next week. We are just waiting in the powder coater who conveniently took the week off without telling us.

Can i get the PSIK in low gloss/flat black since they aren't coated yet?

Yes on the color, the m30 TB isn't a gainer unless your near or trying to pass the 180whp mark. The Mani is actually the right size for the M30 TB entry wise.

i was more talking about the size and length of the tubing rather than tuning fuel/timing this is really the only thing that could gain that much bottom end (GENIII vs PSIK) apart from a cooler supply of air.

Bolt pattern and how the mechanism needs to be placed/located.
