My thoughts exactly mspiegle. Jordon can be abrasive @ times and I think he will even admit that, but @ least he offers more than lip service.

Even if Jordon's mods turn out not to work, @ least he shared valuable info.

Nice work. What were the range of combustion chamber volumes *post* resurfacing? Did you ever get flow numbers?

No way to test flow here Garrick. Chambers were all +-2cc with one another. I could have got them closer if I a. gave a shit, and b. it mattered.

hahaha. you guys are so naive. I suppose you think shiny headers make more power than non shiny headers. Its all great but worthless on these motors.

my heavily modded heads (V8's have two) are on my racecar. My M20 head has most of the above done to it all already but point is, they aren't worth it.

I'll take 700 horsepower over 190 any day. And FWIW, my M20 will still be faster!!!

How do you know your M20 will be faster,
engines don´t travel by them selves you know?

where are pics of your heads that you don´t care for, why not give them to somebody since they suck so much??

The head does look nice but polishing the intake ports and combustion chamber that smooth actual hurts performance. On a good note polishing the exhaust port to a mirror finish reduces carbon build in the port.

You just don't seem to get it. It isn't about making tons of power. If that's all we cared about, we would spend our money on turbo kits and get more than any NA M20 could muster.

Do you think we're stupid too? No shit V8s have 2 heads. My 928 had 2 heads, 4 cams, and 32 valves. Without forced induction, it could easilly make 3-4x the power of an M20 engine. That doesn't mean i'm throwing away my M20 just because it can only make 200hp... there is still a place for it.

Alright well I hate to take any attention from the current calendar thread, but I just picked the car up from letting my friend take a whack at retuning the UniChip. He's never had any experience with UniChip, but hes done tons of other installs/tunes with much nicer setups. He had no problem working with UniChip.

After correcting the not so ideal remap made by the previous tuner for the HFM conversion and advancing the timing alot he then ironed out the fuel maps.

Blue + Light Blue represent my last dyno run when I originally got the HFM+ UniChip installed and tuned.

Red + Pink represent todays last run, HFM conversion array remapped, timing as advanced as possible without detonation, and fuel remapped.

Still a long shot from my goal of 200 rwhp/tq, but I feel its still possible as I have quite a few options left. With a big bore TB and a extrune hone IM I might be able to hit it.

                      Anyways, questions? Comments? Haterisms?

                        Its getting there.

How much do you have into that motor?

Those are really good #'s w/ your cam. Most of the big # M20's run the 288 Schrick. A little more tuning should give you the 200/200 #'s. If not, a BBTB and a little ice on the intake should do it.

Did you make any pulls past 6500?

The numbers are already well on their way down after 6000, I wasn't there for either tuning session (previous or todays)

I've been throwing up all afternoon/evening so brief sits at the computer is all I've managed between the bed and vomiting. Mmmmm.

I would have thought that the cam would have pushed peak power up higher than 6k, interesting, what are specs for the cam you are running?
