Idle is fine, 533 flywheel isn't super light or anything.

These weight questions come up all the time

and the bottomline is that with exception of the verts, its pretty much all the same thing. Who said earlier e30 were significantly lighter? Go to Fred's site strictlyeta. I'm not even sure that is completely accurate anymore because everytime a thread like this comes up contracting everything. I have seen people report STOCK weights severally low and have always wondered if this a european versus US thing. Perhaps?

It's still unclear. My guess is that a lean e30 should be in the 2600-2700 weight class.

In a few days I'll have a total accurate weight of my car with the m30 swap, with full interior etc.

No, just getting an idea on what the total weight is. Local shop that builds spec e30 cars will weight the car.
Corner weighting will be done later when I get new suspension on the car.

I was planning on going turbo with my M20B27, but now I'm tempted with going for an M30. I know you all are biased, but is the added hassle of a full engine swap worth it? How is serviceability on an M30 in an E30 engine bay? Clutch & cam swaps, etc?

Only thing about the m30 is you need
to take the rad out when replacing a PS belt,
                      thermostat, and dizzy cap/rotor.

                      It's a once in a 7 year thing though so...... :P

                      Turbo m20 for sure though.
                      M30b35 is like a m20 on 5psi.

i had some belt issues this summer, never had to take the rad out, and i managed to fit my stock 325i rad in with joefunk's mounts, i have an m30 markd chipped swapped e30 and an ix turbo, and they are both awesome in their own ways.

the m30 torque is unreal even at stock, and i was completely satisfied with it. i got the ix turbo cause it was a screaming good deal on an awd car, i paid less than the turbo parts would have cost me in the end. it runs at 10 psi and there really is nothing like the feeling of boost.....

were in the middle of a full rebuild on the ix, so i've got some experience on m20 turbo builds and m30 swaps, when you consider all the tuning that has to go into a turbo swap, i would say a straight m30 swap would be alot easier, unless you get someone else to tune it for you that you trust. but when the price is considered, m30 swap hands down.

I have a JB Racing 11lb or is it 12lbs. Hell, I don't even remember now. Anyways, I can't really tell anything bad about the idle. Well, when it was running anyways. Since I am a major failure with MS, and I can't get the car started. It hasn't run in like 3 years. :(

3 years is way too long.

Yeah, I've tried, but just couldn't get anywhere with any of it. Could have another underlying problem, but not sure. I'm planning to just rewire everything again, and get another MS built. I'm sure I screwed up something somewhere. I need another laptop first though. Mine took a crap on me just when I thought I was maybe getting somewhere.
