those #s would be way different today, since nobody is going to be using 195 width tires, and the tire compounds are way better than they were in the 80s. considering a stock 325i can do a low-mid 15 sec 1/4 mile on today's tires...

Yeah, thats pretty much what I was getting at with the other post I put up. With better gearing and tires all of our cars should get close to the B6 3.5 numbers even though most of them are not making 260hp. That ~50hp disadvantage that most of the B35 guys have, and the ~65hp disadvantage that the B34 guys have can mostly be made up with gearing, which is why I am guessing that the performance figures will land somewhere between the B6 2.8 and B6 3.5.

Here we go, the good stuff.

First B6S 3.5 road test numbers:
Horsepower: 260hp @ 6000rpm
Torque: 237ft/lbs @ 4000rpm
Curb weight: 2904lbs
0-60: 6.0 seconds
0-100: 15.8 seconds
1/4 mile: 14.4 seconds @ 96.3mph
Top speed: 152mph (M3 body, might be close with a standard E30 body)

Another test has these numbers:
Horsepower: 260hp @ 6000rpm
Torque: 237ft/lbs @ 4000rpm
0-60: 5.9 seconds
0-100: 15.6 seconds
1/4 mile: 14.2 seconds @ 97mph
Top speed: 155mph

I think it's safe to say that most of the 335is on this board should be somewhere between the specs of the B6 2.8 and the B6 3.5, except for Franks turbo devil car which should destroy them both

Obviously gearing is a big performance booster. I couldn't believe that the B6 3.5 had a 2.79 diff, that's crazy. With a 3.25 you could probably knock a ton off of those acceleration figures and still hit 150mph with the right sized tires.

According to the Alpina B6 2.8 and B6 3.5 test articles I have, the 335i should be faster than an E30 M3, even with higher gearing. The m3s came with a 3.25LSD, while some of the Alpina cars got 2.93s or 2.79s (3.5 liter versions).

One test I have has some numbers for the B6 2.8 (210bhp but far less torque than the 3.5): 6.5 seconds to 60 and 143mph top speed with a 3.45 differential.

Another test I have has a ton of performance specs, I'll try to get them all in here:

Curb weight: 2690lbs
Displacement: 2788cc
Horsepower: 210 @ 6100rpm
Torque: 206 @ 5000rpm
Final Drive: 3:45:1
Tires: 195/50/16 Pirelli P7 (lol)
0-60: 6.9 seconds (lack or torque from the 2.8 I guess)
0-100: 17.2 seconds
1/4 mile: 15.5 @ 95mph

These are the numbers I have for the 2.8 liter cars, I'll post up what I have for the 3.5 liter cars in a minute.

I have no idea what my 345i will do 0-60, but i've tried to do it and am looking around 4.5-5 seconds I think. I have 3.25 gears, so Getting to 60 is easy in 2nd gear and that's where I have the most pull.

Anyone have performance stats from their 335i? I'm just curious on how much fasters these cars are than the 325i/325e. I know the alpina B6 runs a 14.4 1/4 mile.

with the chiped e28 3.5L in my 1988 325 chell with the getrag 265 and 2:93lsd I ran 13.8-14.0 nothing striped out of the car, But it took a few runs to get the shift points right and not spin the tires.

I underwent a few informal 'tests' of how fast my car is after its M30 swap, and with a restrictive exhaust (but otherwise fine engine), I managed around 6.6 secs 0-60, and I received proof that when I repeatedly beat my friend's 2004 201bhp Type-R off the line every time.
