    Update

Not a huge update but I am taking it slow I guess and trying to get fimiliar with all of the things.

I ripped out the interior..the moonroof was open when I recieved the car and the carpet is SOAKED. So I ripped it up and its drying as I type. I took the hood off and the cooling system out of the car.

One problem I am running into is one of the A/C lines won't detach from the condensor. I have it unscrewed but still won't budge.

A few things I found, One of the main hoses for the cooling system was not hooked up that well and was leaking coolant. Also, there was only about a half a gallon of liquid in the radiator. I hope he shut it off in time so that no bad damage was done.

I looked at ARP's website and there kits aren't over like $170 so that guy that is over $200 is kinda out of the ballpark. If thats the case I will just get OEM head bolts.

One other thing. I circled in yellow a piece that I want to get out. I dont' want to force. It almost looks like 2 pieces but I want to make sure. Do I need to take the bracket off to get it off the car or can I take the top or bottom off? One of the piece goes into the fuse box and I really don't want to take the fuse box out.

Does it screw off? Almost felt that way. I just don't want to force anything.

        Ahhh...the C101 conector.

It's basically 3 parts, the part that attaches to the firewall is like a strap, look for a protruding part of plastic and un-snap. It wraps around the connector like a belt.

Now the connector top and bottom should be free - they separate by twisting the ring - and it come apart.

Ummm, kinda - if you use the m20 harness it is. If not you might have to swap some pins on that C101 conector(see above)

IMHO the G265 w/removable bellhousing. It a stout box, but a g260 is another option.

Use an electric "pusher" fan in FRONT of the radiator if you are ditching the AC, or you might be able to install a "sucker" behind the radiator. I've ran my m30 on 100 degree days, and still only need the fan for speeds below 25 MPH, idle-ing for more them a min, the WORST is stop and go traffic when you are sucking up someone else exhaust, like at a drive thru.

I have m20b25, so I guess it's plugnplay. The G265 is the one from later 5er/7er? IF i ever do the swap, I would like to keep the AC, would that be possible?

I am pretty sure it is possible. The lines from my car matched up perfectly with the motor so its would just be electrical running which probably will match also..mine was cut.

                        read this... http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=91550

And can I suggest you budget some time and read the e30.de 335i (english version) to get started, then go ahead and read EVERY thread on this M30 swap section - It should get you really caught up.

Do I have to have the exhaust out to unhook the driveshaft? I am going to guess yes including the heat sheilds. Does anyone have a picture of what I am going to be looking at when I do so I know what to expect and undo?

Thats what i was thought but thought I'd ask. I dont' have to take the manifolds off though right? Or should I to make the removal of the motor easier?

I just talked to Todd from TCD. I asked him about the head bolts. I don't know for sure if I am going to keep the car let alone boost it so I am going to hold off but if anyone else is interested they are about 245 give or take a couple bucks out the door shipped.
