I'm actually looking for a good aftermarket engine management... my first and the one I actually have good experience with is the Megasquirt II ...dont know much about VEMS why did you not use that one? I could potentially be up for VEMS for a good price and if its up to the task of the M62 (non vanos)..and Im in Quebec city pretty close to you so no shipping would be needed.

Compared to a Haltech E6K or MS2, a WAR chip in the stock DME is extremely capable, especially in terms of diagnostics.

Compared to a MoTeC or VEMS... maybe not so much.

Why does the stock harness suck? It's designed to be weather resistant for a lotta lotta miles.

First of all the WAR chip uses a MAF sensor and I used one on my M20 year back...and with all the problems I had and how touchy it is I sold it and went with MS and will never looked back at WAR chip..EVER!! and the software well I dont even want to comment on it....+ MAP sensor based is so much better to tune and so much cleaner and shit tons more reliable. Tuning software is awesome too.

the stock harness has 1 million useless wires on it and weights like 50 pounds LOL... I agree its bulky for no reason. I also plan on making my own harness clean ..simple and with new wiring and wrapped with new weather tight.

Not sure how VEMS compared to MS??

Paid 900 bucks for the computer, with 8 inj drivers, 8 ign drivers to use original coils, 2 wideband drivers and 115kpa map sensor. Will also come with the immobilizer. 600 bucks.
