I think we could fit them with some work, I'll be running 275s once I get the 17s ordered so we will be installing flares this weekend.

Brought a deal of a 92 325ic down for Matt! Excited to see what does with it.

Mostly bolted on some parts to the e30 this weekend, gauges working, wheels on, fuel pump replaced. We are going to wait for wider wheels to run the flares 245s fit very nicely in the rear. I'll let the pictures do the talking. Road Atlanta this week!

Well it was an eventful and pleasing weekend. Loaded the car up and went to Road Atlanta for the car's real shakedown runs. After 50 laps of the track time with two different drivers we hauled the car up to the SE Brodeo and continued to flog on the fresh swap for 150 miles of mountain roads. Great trip, tons of memories and the car performed really well. Loads of instant torque and a blast to drive.

A few small hiccups emerged. First off with the car into a hard right hand turn the motors loads to the left witch causes the header to vibrate the steering shaft. This makes turning a but harder and we will remedy with a smaller diameter shaft. The second issue is we need a rebuilt and balanced driveshaft. Car has some DS vibration at low rpms. The car did creep towards 3/4 temp mark on the track, but it was 105 degree track temp. Possibly doing an oil cooler soon.

All in all I'm very pleased with the performance and durability of the car on the torture test of a weekend. The exhaust can be loud and have some drone at times, but this will be addressed. I have some GoPro videos to edit so sound clips coming soon!

Here are some pictures of the weekend.

              Leaving for Road Atlanta!

                    Thanks Agent!

The above pictured burnout attempt was a failure. Lots of noise from the rear end and driveshaft vibration. Sticky 245s didn't help.

Had to sort out some post shake down problems. First was an oil leak that turned out to be the oil pressure switch leaking through the electrical connection. Installed a new plug and also did AN lines with a Mishimoto oil cooler crammed in front of the right wheel.

I wanted to quiet down the car a little and reduce highway drone so I opted for a larger Magnaflow muffler with internal X pipe. Car sounds much better and I think it looks so much better as well.

Next up is a new driveshaft and rear end refresh!;)

No thermostat on oil cooler yet. I've contemplated adding an inline thermostatic valve, but since the car isn't a DD I've been putting it off.

Here is a mostly comprehensive list of what I spent on the swap. This does not include the oil cooler setup I added later or any other parts that weren't swap related.

We basically followed the sticky at the top of the v8 section

Still need to work out a few kinks as I still have a CEL and batt light on.

Tires did really well, very sticky once warmed up. The car really does not need anything bigger so I'm not going to be splicing in the fender flares. We did have a little tire rub but nothing another pass with the fender roller wouldn't remedy.
